A Letter To Nkem- Commentary

I meant to write this commentary the day I published the letter and all, but I never got to it. *sheepish grin*

So, first and foremost you have to understand what Nkem means. It is an Igbo word, a term of endearment. It means "mine". You know that one person that you're so close to that you have come to think of the person as yours? Of course you don't own the person but that person has become a part of you?

Originally, I wrote the letter for that one person, the one that is my Nkem. I wrote it to her and I sent it to her and at first I was skeptical about sharing this one on my blog. It was something so special and personal and I didn't want its beauty to be spoiled by the public eye. But then I thought about them ones who don't have anyone to tell them these things as I have told Nkem and then I realized I had to share it. And so I did.
